Vintage Greenie Penn 704 Spinning Reel
Closing : Oct-06-07 16:30:00 PDT
CLICK FOR DETAILS! |
Up for Auction is the Penn 704 Greenie pictured. The box has seen better days but as you can see this is from the first year they were made. They didn't have new boxes yet so Penn just slapped a sticker on the old box that said "New 704". The reel is in excellent condition with no scratches or paint chips that I can see. Own a piece of history, since they no longer make the 704 at all this reel will only go up in value.

This looks to be a very old rod with interesting fittings. It measures about 9' long, and breaks down into 3 pieces. It has wear, but quite decent for it's considerable age. Marked Governor.

This is a Penn 714 reel. It has the buttons on each side; one shows a fish and says - Penn Reel 714 Spinfisher, and the other one says - Penn 714 Ultrasport. As far as I can tell it seems to work okay, but I've never used this type of reel so I am not for sure. It still has some line in it. It is in good condition with some wear and a few spots of paint loss.

Nice 1/34 scale diecast truck from First Gear. This 8" long model is a 1951 Ford F-6 with great graphics from the old South Bend Bait Company at South Bend, Indiana. Copyright from 1996. Ad on side of truck for their model 4769 Spinning Rod. Truck is in very nice shape, I owned it since they first came out with these in the mid 90's and it sat on a sheft, never handled. Nontheless there does appear to be 3 very small areas of paint loss on the tiny ribs on the top of the van box. Otherwise like new, no scratches, wear or soiling. Still has the two little side mirrors that were never installed and are still in the box. Box in good shape but has one flap torn on one end, still has the custom styrofoam packing.

a Zebco Cardinal 557 spinning reel made by ABU Sweden in excellent condition. Operation is smooth and functions flawlessly. Has very light scratches from wear, graphite spool is faded and could use a general lite wipe down. Date code on the foot is 790202 which puts it at February 1979 I believe. The Cardinal 557 is a ball bearing reel with 4.5:1 (High Speed in 1979! If they only knew) Its built with interchangeable handle position for left or right hand use. The reel is in great condition and has many fish catching days left in it.

Zebco Cardinal 3 Spinning Reel. This auction is for a small treasured Cardinal Spinning Reel, a great opportunity for you. This reel is no longer made. A great collector's item that still works just right! Salt water proof. This reel has a few worn spots and scratches in the paint but works perfectly. The handle is loose but doesn't seem to effect the use any. There are no line cuts in the plastic by the guide that you see in some of these old reels. "Product of Sweden" and the number 750900 are stamped in the bottom of the mount. It was one of Skip Zapffe's, a well known and respected fishing guide in the Pacific Northwest, favorite reels so he engraved his name in the side below the label that says Zebco 3 Cardinal.

RARE K & K Animated Minnow Minnoette K&K Wooden Lure. I am really excited to offer this old fishing lure - it is one of the rarest I have found and the last one I saw on eBay was back in 2003. Dating back to +/- 1907 the K&K Company was based in Toledo Ohio and it is generally accepted that they marketed one of the first if - not the first jointed animated minnows. The book I have (generally pretty accurate - Carl F. Luckey from 1999) values this lure between $700 to $1,000 in the condition it is in. As you can see in the photo - the paint is in excellent condition except for the paint loss on the tip of the nose and the tail and part of the belly. The hooks and hardware is perfect (hooks even fasted to the side of the body) and the wood part of the body just measures over 3" maybe 3 3/4" from tip of the nose to the metal tail. Please check out some of my other auctions that will be listed this week for some more vintage wood lures.
