The hooks have some light rust but otherwise appears to be in good shape. There is a little light corrosion on the hook hardware but most appears to come off with a little rubbing and the blades are corrosion free.

1923 Heddon Fishing Tackle Die Cut Advertising

290159120366.jpg 1923 Heddon Fishing Tackle Die Cut Advertising

Bidding has ended

Early fishing tackle advertising is extremely rare. There are usually only a very few examples of any given type. This advertising is from one of the most desirable companies, Heddon. One of the most collected and highly prized of all early tackle manufacturers. In spite of their prolific production, even in the early 1900's, advertising from Heddon, and the other major early tackle manufacturers is nearly non-existent. This particular cardboard diecut is one of the very rarest. I have been collecting early tackle and tackle advertising for 20 years, and am not aware of another example of this advertising piece. This is also one of the ealier Heddon die cut advertising pieces I am aware of as well. Copywrited 1923 in the lower right margin, this poster is also on the cover of the 1924 Heddon catalog as part of the "Heddon Scientific Chart of First Choice Baits" advertising campaign used for a handful of years during the early-mid 1920's.

Fenwick fly rod FF535 – Superb 5’3″ Feralite fly rod!!

Monday, September 10th, 2007
300150029491.jpg Fenwick fly rod FF535 - Superb 5'3" Feralite fly rod!!

Bidding has ended

As seen in the pictures, this rod is in superb condition! Eyes, wraps, finish - just an excellent rod. The FF535 is 5'3" for a No. five line and weighs 1 1/2 oz. The rod was used only a few times on Slate Run, Fishing Creek, and on the Letort. It is as fine an ultralight fly-casting rod as has ever been made. The rod tip is softer so as not to break off a midge or pull it from a trout's mouth while the butt is stiffer to allow for longer casts and for setting the hook. The rod is a joy to use, and you should see the battle you have with a nice brookie or brown at the business end of the line. If you win high bid, you won't be disappointed!
