Heddon Bass Bugs were introduced in 1924 in 12 named models in the 2” long bass size. They are beautiful lures with solid cork bodies painted with enamel, and great combinations of wings, hackle and tail to hide the #6 hook, aid weedlessness and support the wings so it always landed upright. They were each packed in their own box, here the early Down Bass box with beautiful graphics highly sought after by collectors.
This lure is the tough and beautiful St. Johns Pal. It appears to be unfished, with full body, wings, hackle and hair—a nearly impossible lure to upgrade. It comes in its correctly marked #58 Down Bass box. The box is solid and clean, with great color and graphics, but some wear as can be seen in the pictures. These bass bugs and especially the boxes are becoming very scarce; St John’s Pal is one of the tougher colors. Don’t miss this opportunity to own this great combination.
