Abu Cardinal 40A. Serial number 781100. A very lightly used reel from 1978/9 in superb condition, other than a few light scratches on the foot it is unmarked. Mechanically it's excellent, perfect in fact, no sign of wear at all, the gears are silky smooth and quiet, the anti reverse ticks lightly when engaged.  The clutch works very smoothly and the bail return is very efficient. It has been serviced, a great reel to fish with or to add to your collection.

Man, this is totally vintage!! And, in great shape, showing little or no wear. I have never seen anything like this - WOVEN ALUMINUM!!! How crazy is that? My dad and grandpa Fly Fished the North Shore of Lake Superior for Brookies in the 40's and 50's, so it dates back to then, no doubt. Shoulder strap included, of course.
