IF YOU LIKE TO FISH WITH, OR COLLECT, VERY HIGH QUALITY UNUSED ORIGINAL FLY RODS YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT THIS ROD AND THE OTHER 5 RODS I AM LISTING TODAY 10/4/07--FENWICKS, ORVIS, PHILLIPSON--YOU WONT FIND ANY RODS ANY NICER THAN THESE !!!--this is a orvis impregnated madison model HDG (6) 7-1/2 ft split bamboo fly rod--both peices are exact same length--the rod is designed for 6 weight line--has 10 line guides including the tip guide--has beautiful new condition windings on all guides--the rod has serial #76950 on both sections and this number matches the number on the metal rod tube--the cork handle is unsoiled condition--you can tell by looking at the walnut/aluminum reel seat there has never been a reel mounted on the rod--the rod comes in the correct original green cloth storage bag which comes inside the original metal rod tube--the sticker on the tube is correct for the rod inside--the tube shows some very light wear and has done a fantastic job keeping the rod in absolute new condition--the only thing keeping the rod from being factory fresh is the original owner very lightly engraved his SS# on the aluminum part of reel seat area(not on the wood part)--mounting a reel will cover this number totally but it is barely visible anyway--OTHER THAN THIS YOU CANNOT FIND A NICER CONDITION ORVIS MADISON BAMBOO FLY ROD EVER !!

ebay is a good place to sell old item. should try one more time. make sure you have a good photo, the more the better. along with good description. search tips on how to sell item at auction for more detail explanation.

I have a Madison 7ft3wt 2pc bamboo fly rod with original case and sock. This rod has NEVER been used.
Originally, I bought the rod at an estate sale and used the rod once. That day i broke the rod at the ferrels (dont ask me how) I called Orvis and they agreed to replace the rod, not repair it.
I received the replacement and only took it out once to make sure everything was okay.
It has never seen the light of day since.
The original value of the rod was 850.00
The collectable value far greater.
I am looking for serious offers only
