A great South Bend #290 Dry Fly Rod: A 7'6" two piece beautiful golden bamboo fly rod with two mirror image tips. All original components - I have restored this classic to last another 70 years. Each section is the same 45 1/4" length. Reasonable reserve equal to the high quality and scarcity. Rod features include:

• Re-wrapped in original South Bend issue orange and black varigatted threads;
• Rod logo 100%;
• Rod bag label 100%, comes with replacement rod tube;
• All original components;
• Comficient cork handle - foil label is gone. Comficient grip was first used in 1939 and was comfortable and efficient;
• Uplocking metal Lite lock reelseat;
• Casts either a 4 or 5 weight line with a nice medium action;

You are bidding on an old vintage Vom Hofe Boat reel. Reel is overall good shape but does have some small cracks on both sides of the reel, close to where the reel fastens to the rod. Almost looks like stress cracks from big fish,all the plastic is intact, but its cracked. Has 2/0 stamped on the back and also the numbers and letters B18G . The leather thumb brake is in good shape, the free spool switch works good. The plastic sides are in good shape except for the cracks. See photos. The spool is in good shape with maybe a few small pits. All pieces are here. This is a nice collector piece.
