Up for Bid here from the collection of a retired Army Officer. The second model of the Record Ambassadeur 5000 in (Black) made after the 'MOD. SG', evident from the grey spool and star drag but without the 'MOD.SG' mark
It comes in its original brown leather case with early chrome locking latch, original Record oil vial, blue reserve spare parts tube and Record papers. No number on reel's foot.
Scuffs and nicks to reel rims or sideplates but in excellent mechanical condition. There are also an etched marking of a Roman numeral ( I ) in the sideplates and side frame flanges.

**This reel was given to him as a gift way back in the late 1950s by his buddy from Sweden.
This 'Crazy Guy'!! Unknown to him, the value of this reel today; he drilled a hole just beside the Abu emblem in the late 1960's(please refer to last picture) for whatever stupid reason?

"HEARTBREAKER"

However; Record Ambassadeur 5000(Black) is exceptionally rare reel to find in any condition as they were made only by the hundreds.
