ABU AMBASSADEUR

6500 CA NIB BAITCASTER

"Rare 1980 Edition SN 800700"

"This is a Relisting Due to an EBAY Screw-up!"

"I’m starting this Item at only 99 cents with NO RESERVE!"

"The Best 6500 CA You Can Get"

This particular reel was in the transitional period between the fall of Garcia who was the exclusive distributer for Abu in the US; and the rise of Abu-Garcia in Sweden. In the early eighties Abu wisely bought the name rights to “Garcia” and changed their name to Abu-Garcia. Currently owned by the same company that owns Mitchell, Pure Fishing; Abu-Garcia is still a very well known and respected fishing tackle company worldwide!

The packaging and all documents are different than what you will normally find with a 6500 CA if you can find one complete. Although this reel was marketed by Abu; you will still see a small Garcia wedge sticker on this reel but nowhere else. Another historical piece from my personal collection.
Please contact me with any questions. As always, you'll get...

Here's a seldom seen Schulz fishing reel in excellent condition. Made of aluminum with a nice large marbled crank handle, it is 3 1/4" high, with a spool that is only 1 3/4" across. I'm not sure exactly how to use this oddball, but it swivels...to cast in one position and retrieve line in the other. You squeeze the "pincher"(?) which locks in place to secure the line and....go from there. You figure it out. The name plate reads "Schulz LA Calif PAT PEND". Cranks smoothly(but stiff/needs new grease)and has a strong clicker.

Another oddball! The "RITE-ANGLER from Markle Featherlite Prod. Detroit, Michigan. Very simple..cast in one position, spin, and retrieve in the other position. No clicker on this one, always in freespool, smooth as silk, with only a few chips out of the nice dark gray wrinkle paint.

This Thirty Year Old Zebco Cardinal 3 Reel has Never Been Used. It is totally Mint with original Box (very good condition), Spare Spool (new), Oiler (unopened) and Owner's Manual with Skematics (very good condition). All items are original to this reel. The box and all contents have been inside of a heavy paper bag, inside of a file cabinet for many years.

Reel Foot is stamped: Product of Sweden 780800. Side plate reads: Zebco Cardinal 3. Will Ship World Wide at Cost / Insurance Optional.

I am the original owner, as I purchased this reel in the late '70s from Berman's Sporting Goods, now long gone, of downtown Elkhart, Indiana.

There are minor marks on the underside of the reel foot from the hood of a rod seat - I undoubtedly placed this on a rod at one time - yet it has never been used. One glance and you will be certain of this, as well.

This box has laid around in my friends garage for years!(late 60's/early 70's?) He ask me to post it on ebay for him, so here it is...I see some names such as South Bend, Creek Chub, Paul Bunyan, Heddon a couple of lures boxes, pico perch in a plastic box with a piece of paper in it. Bayou boogie whopper stopper lure in a box, an empty C.C.B.CO. LURE box it is not mark & it is not in to good a shape. Then there is a big red box in good shape with a big gold lure with a red tail both are marked AL&W Lures, A silver rebel in the box marked F25-01 SILVER 1 3/4"-1/4 OZ., a Bagley's small fry it says tru-life balsa lures this is in the package but the plastic is a little ruffled, but not to bad it is still a nice package and marked FLA., an old mepps in the package, there are a few Cordell spots.. My friend told me one is a Clark water scout? any way it has a little keel on the bottom and it is has a neat color, yellow with yellow-green-like strip on the back and then the same color kidney shaped spots down the sides oh and then an orange color that looks like it is glowing on the belly. There are just so many they go on and on, here is another Shadrak, Mills spunky minnow,1/4 oz Sparkle tail Hubbard's lures from Indiana, wow this is pretty color yellow with black stripes down the sides, this one has a box too with a paper inside tells how to work it, I won't go into all that, you will just have to trust me it tells you all about how to catch fish with this one. there is another small box with Dowagiac lure heddon-made on the end it is mark 423 CF. There are so many lures in this box it makes my head spin! Oh , that reminds me my neighbor showed me one of the lures and told me the name of it was a spinning Henry there is a small box in the bottom that has Spinning Henry marked on it ? There are just to many for me to name them all even if I knew what they were??// That's right I haven't got to the reels yet. Well here they are one at a time an OCEAN CITY NO.36 I think this is a fly reel. Then one DAIWA BALL BEARING 9900. The 3rd is marked HENDRYX on the front. I'm pretty sure this last one is a very popular reel, it seems the fishermen are always talking about it the Johnson Marked Century Model 100B. That good enough! All the reels are in good shape and all work as they should! There is a bunch more lures and other stuff ,bobber, hooks, blab, blab, blab................... GARCIA MITCHELL 400

1ST VERSION COMPLETE

"With Matching SN Box and Paperwork"

"In the true spirit of any collector who likes to get others to join in the fun,

I’m starting this Item at only 99 cents with NO RESERVE!”

"The Beginning of the Midnight Blues"

This is a 1962/63 First Version Dark “Midnight” Blue Garcia Mitchell 400 Made in France with serial number 3929655 on the foot and partially missing on her original box. This serial number, old style baffle plate and packaging dates this reel back to 1962/63. The serial numbers on the 400 ran in numeric sequence with the Mitchell 300 and 350 series reels of the time.

This reel was advertised; “The 400 has replaced the 350 model” but of course, that never happened. Besides the serial number, the easiest way to tell a first version 400 is the tiny hole in the anti-reverse lever. Also note the screw type handle shank without a screw slot on the counterweight, the black bail rubber bumper and the four star drag; all of which changed later in the sixties.

The picture on the owner’s manual shows this reel but with a 300 series style bail wire and a trip-lever that has the old style “teeth”. If that reel was made, it would date these at least two years older. I believe this “mysterious” reel was only an artist’s rendition just like they did on most Mitchell reels of the fifties and early sixties.

This reel has been lightly used but very well preserved. There are a few scratches and a small chips on the foot as you can see in the pictures. She’s mechanically strong and still secure in her sturdy original box. From my personal collection, I always guarantee…

"A Rare Find, Right Here & Now"

This tool kit was offered for sale to dealers for service starting in 1959/60. As you can see from the Case Contents list; this kit was for Mitchell spinning reels being sold by the late fifties however; I find it odd that the 350 “Rapid” is not listed even though it was also being sold! Anyway…

"I've Also Listed A First Version Tool Kit for Sale!"

I could not find any ads for this tool kit but from the list, it appears to be complete. This comes from my personal collection I thought I'd never sell and is truly a collector's piece you will be proud to own, use and display!

From the personal collection of Sid Eliason, worldwide fly fisherman, author, fly fishing historian and artist. Sid is the author of SNAKE RIVER COUNTRY, MADISON RIVER COUNTRY & SALTWATER COUNTRY historical fiction trilogy. In 1973, Sid partnered with Tom Morgan to purchase the R.L. Winton Rod Company from Doug Merrick. Tom relocated Winston to Twin Bridges, Montana from San Franciso in 1976, and the rest, as they say, is history. Sid, a personal friend of mine is aging well, but for the most part has quit fishing. He has asked me to auction several pieces of his personal fishing gear, including this item.

Up for a no-reserve auction is this vintage Seamaster fly fishing reel. Anyone familiar with vintage fly fishing reels knows that Seamaster reels need no introduction. Seamaster reels are some of the most sought after fly fishing reels in the world, and are regularly put to the test on the most famous saltwater flats worldwide. This particular reel was purchased by Sid in the 1970's, and has seen a fair number of days on the flats around the world. The meticulously machined solid bar stock reel measures 3 7/8" in diameter, has a spool width of 1 1/8" and is beautifully anodized in a gold finish. Near as I can tell, the reel is one of the early Seamaster designs, and a predecessor to the more recent production Mark II and Mark III Series reels. It is anti-reverse in action type and set up for right hand retrieve. It could most likely be converted to left hand retrieve by sending the reel back to Seamaster for conversion. Conversion will likely entail a nominal fee. The well-used reel comes loaded with a used floating fly line of undetermined size and fly line backing. A non-original neoprene ONE FLY soft case is also included. As indicated in photos, scratching and various nicks/dings are evident. The reel foot shows considerable wear, is bent and appears to have suffered from saltwater corrosion. Internally, the reel appears to be in good working order and has smooth retrieve and drag. Truly a special find for the avid saltwater fly fisherman wanting what seasoned flats veterans consider the finest salt water fly fishing reel ever produced, or the ardent collector. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!!

very rarely use "rare" in a description, but I think this reel deserves it. Please see the small amount of info that this page has. http://pagesperso-orange.fr/pechantic/index.htm Everything is intact, functional and working smoothly. The oscillating spool wobbles weirdly(but correctly), the bail is tripped by hitting the leg when cranked forward, the half bail arm is connected to the original spring which keeps the line from slipping out from under the bail arm, and the freespool button works. There is some slight discoloration(a litle nicer than pics), but no corrosion, and several small chips on the edge of the crank knob. The spool is 2 5/8" across and the weight is only about 11 oz. Manufactured by the same company that made the more commonly seen "Croisix" spinning reel. There is NO RESERVE on this reel, so jump on this opportunity to add a very scarce reel to your collection! I'll be selling off somw of my tackle collection in the next few months, so please watch my auctions for some interesting stuff. Thanks for looking, and always feel free to ask questions.

Antiquetreasuregarden offers this Huge Lifelong Fishing Collection with App. 1000 Vintage Lures, Reels, Tackle Boxes, Collection Cases with Glass Covers and More. I am selling this Collection for my Best Friends Widow. Let me tell you about my Best Friend and Neighbor "Howard". Howard and I have been Friends and Neighbors for over 30 Years. Both Howard and I grew up in small towns in Kentucky but we didn't meet until I moved out to Oregon over 30 years ago and purchased a small farm just a 1/4 mile down the road from Howard and his Wife Anne. Howard and I became Friends quickly and we shared the love of Fishing and Hunting in the Great Northwest. Howard loved Fishing and he had collected Fishing Equipment since he was a young man back in Kentucky. Most of this Collection was on display in his "trophy room" for the last 50+ years. Howard passed away last year at the young age of 86 years old. His wife Anne asked if I would sell his Collection a few weeks ago because she is moving to a care home and no longer can keep this collection. Howard and Anne never had children so there was no relatives to pass this collection down too. This collection has App. 1000 Vintage Lures from just about every Major Lure Manufacturer in the USA including Heddon Punkinseeds, Crazy Crawlers, Bassers, South Bend Wood Lures, Paw Paw Wood Lures, Smithwick Wood Lures, Dalton Wood Lures, Bombers and So Many More!! I stopped counting when I got close to a 1000 lures and I didn't even count the lures still in tackle boxes. Like I said much of the Collection was on display in his "Trophy Room" and some of the fishing items are things he actually used when he went fishing. I'm not a lure expert and I don't know a whole lot about collecting lures, but I can tell you there are alot of Heddon Wood Lures, Wood Lures with Glass Eyes, Creek Chub, South Bend, Pflueger and More!! There are at least 60 Lures in the Boxes or Packages. I've seen at least 4 Heddon Punkinseed lures. Many Old Reels and Tackle Boxes and Much More. I have included 24 pictures but even with all these pictures it is still hard to get a clear idea of exactly what each case and tackle box includes. PLEASE REMEMBER YOU CAN SUPERSIZE EACH PICTURE WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO GET A BETTER LOOK AT EACH BOX OF LURES. If you see an area or box you want a closer look at try to describe which picture you need to see better and I will take more pictures and send them to you. Many of the lures are laid out in the lure cases, but there are still many lures in the tackle boxes and Anne found another box full of tackle, lures and reels that didn't make it in the pictures, but will be included along with any other items she finds between now and the time this auction ends. Anne has asked me to set the reserve for less than $2.50 an Item!! I am sure a lure collector could easily keep the items he wanted, sell the other items and come out smelling like roses. It would just take alittle time. To give you an idea of just how big this collection is the area pictured is over 10 feet across!!! We are going to put a Flat Rate of $100.00 for shipping withing the USA 48 States Only. I am sure the shipping will be more than this because it will require so many boxes. But Anne has agreed to cover any extra shipping costs required. We will use the lure cases to carefully pack the lures so they collection arrives safely and because this auction is So Large we can't except a return simply because this auction includes so many items. Sold As Is, As Pictured, As Shown. I am sure there will be tons of questions and I will do my best to answer all questions quickly. Thanks for looking at this auction. Please be patient while 24 pictures load.

The rod has an up locking aluminum reel seat with wood insert. The reel seat screw is stamped "PAYNE, REG. U.S. PAT. OFF." on one side and "Sold by ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO., New York" on the other side. The cork handle measures about 6 1/2" long and made up of 3/8" wide rings. The rod is sound, but the varnish is tacky with fine age lines. It is also missing the hook keeper ring and possibly one or two guides may be re-wrapped as their color does not quite match (snake guide on butt section & 1st guide following on the mid-section). The rod includes a cloth bag. Unfortunately the tag is missing from the bag. Everything is housed in an aluminum tube with an Abercrombie & Fitch rod care notice glued to it. The Red notice has some damage. If you have further questions about this rod, I would be glad to try and answer them.
