Spectacular 1960 SHAKESPEARE #1465 "Wonderod" 6-1/2' Bidding has ended

It's my pleasure to offer at auction an absolutely Spectacular 1960 SHAKESPEARE NO.1465 "WONDEROD" 6-1/2 FT., 2-PIECE FIBERGLASS SPINNING ROD WITH THE SCARCE "GREEN" BLANK & ORIGINAL BAG AND MARKED TUBE. This comes from a group of Wonderods I'll be selling that are, without question, among the finest I've ever seen. The No.1465 was first offered by the Shakespeare Co. in early 1958. This example carries the date code EAL, which indicates it was built in November of 1960. Rodshaft is marked "No.1465 - 6' 6" - EAL", along with a perfect Shakespeare Wonderod oval/ribbon decal. One of the sliding rings on the handle is stamped "Shakespeare" in script. Rod comes equipped with the Scarcer green colored rod blanks, solid cork grip w/sliding bands, plastic winding check & buttcap and beautiful windings of forest green. Because the terms "Mint" and "Near Mint" are so carelessly used on eBay, I tend not to use them, even if it might apply to an item I'm selling. However, in this case I have no choice, as this example is nothing less than solid Near Mint. This rod has never been used and has barely been handled. Other than some insignificant yellowing to the thread preserver, it's as pristine as the day it was made. Green "spiral" rod blanks appear untouched. All guides, tip top, ferrules, winding check and buttcap are perfect. Guide, ferrule and signature wraps are like new. The solid "suberet" cork grip/reel seat has never had a reel mounted on it. Put up in the original blue bag and plastic tube, both of which are extremely nice. The red end caps for the tube are both embossed with "WONDEROD Patented, SHAKESPEARE CO. - U.S.A.". A Spectacular 48 year-old package from Shakespeare, original & complete, and one that would be virtually impossible to upgrade. You are bidding on two jim pfeffer lures, one belongs in the box. the box top has some age. On the front top right hand corner there is a catalog number, that might read 711, but is difficult to tell. It is probably for the floating lure which is the green back, yellow belly, silver head. It weighs 1/2 oz. The other lure is black body, silver scale, silver head, and has a belly weight, and has a total weight of 3/4 oz. Both lures measure 4 inches in length. Both are in mint condition.

Vintage Creek Chub Bait Co. custom ordered, Tarpon rigged "GIANT PIKIE" fishing lure with all wood body, glass eyes and the Rare single Tarpon hooks. This is a very Rare lure indead if not a one of a kind, the Giant Pikie itself is very hard to come by, but with this custom ordered Tarpon rigging and in its correct original box, this just may be an extremely rare one of a kind lure.

The lure body measures 8" in length and it has the heavy duty through body hook hangers with 2 belly and 1 trailing heavy single barb Tarpon hooks, the extra heavy reversible lip plate and large glass eyes. The lure is in MINT un-fished condition and all of the hardware is original but the lure body has been proffesionaly re-painted back to its original Silver Flash color. The box is also original and correctly marked, its in VG condition with some light water staining on the back and one end and it measures 12.5" X 3" X 1.5".

The Tarpon Pikie with the rare single hooks has a book value of $375 - $500,

For sale at a fixed price is this nice vintage reel. On March 1st we bought a pretty large collection of fishing items from the estate of a Denver Collector. It spans quite a few years of collecting. The most remarkable thing about the collection is that virtually all of it were unfished..unused. This is one of those pieces and we will be listing a lot more as we can. This is an unfished Mitchell 314 Spinning Reel. The back of the reel is marked C.A.P. and France This is one of the old ones..it has the serial number 097164. Complete with the original box that the reel was sold in and a spare spool but no instructions. This collector put line on most of his reels...he just felt they looked better that way.

As I said minty condition..this is as new and never fished. There is no wear or fading of the white lettering on the reel. The box is very near mint.

Hi, Thanks for stopping by! We have an older ABU Abassadeur High Speed 5000 AL, serial # 810800 in its original Fish box, this reel was Made in Sweden! It really is pretty clean, obviously used a few times, has a little rash spot on the top left, the handle side plate has one little nick in the finish. It has a four point star drag and somewhere down the line one got broke off, I would think that part would be available if you wanted to change it. This Classic reel is mechanically sound, could use a light cleaning, box is solid, please see below to appreciate! Arthur Kovalovsky’s reels are considered the finest big game fishing reels made in the United States and perhaps the world. This wonderful 9/0 “Standard Model Type II” reel was built just after W.W. II circa 1946. This reel holds 500 yards of # 24 thread line and mechanically everything on the reel functions perfectly. There is some wear on the spool but the rest of the reel is in excellent condition. Kovalovsky reels are beautiful and quite hard to find so here is a great opportunity to add a scarce and important reel to your collection.

Up for auction is a Creek Chub Dinger in the perch finish #5601 This lure displays wonderfully.It has one age line straight down the middle of the back that you can see in the picture. The camera glare really shows it well. The bracket on the belly that holds the rear hook is brass making me believe this was made during the war. It was in fact only made from 1939-54 It has a wonderful full crop of hair, perfect glass eyes and the unimproved diving lip.Hardware is perfect with no rust. The box is correct for this lure and is in Excellent + condition. Be sure to keep track of my auctions as I will keep listing my Creek Chub collection untill they are gone. Good luck!

Orvis Battenkill 7ft. two piece fly Rod

Orvis 7 ft. weight 3 3/8 oz. Impregnated two piece two tips this rod has 11/64" ferrule takes a # 4 DT. Line or #5 WF. Line has a down locking reel seat with a walnut filler. The rod was made in 1961 under the watch-full eye Wes Jordan, he was rod shop superintendent of this era. Orvis lists the similar rod with two tips new current day price is $2100.00.

It is a one-owner fly rod that has not been fished in thirty-five years. The rod is straight as the day it was made, it has some honest ware of the guides, and rod tube shows wear. The ferrules are tight and ready to fish. Rod is in unalterd condition all sections same length. The cane in this rod is in excellent condition rod will give the next owner a lifetime of fishing pleasure.

This rod will give you a delicate presentation for short and long casts and it has a very smooth action! Great dry fly rod for the lite of tippets and fishing the smallest of flys.

This rod will increase in value a time goes on making it good investment! You can fish it

for a number of years and get more than you paid for it.
