This is a 6' 3" flamed cane / bamboo fly rod which I have carefully assembled and made from a New Old Stock blank. The rod has two differently-tapered tips. The lighter weight tip was made from the same culm as the butt section. I found through test casting the rod that a WF3 overloaded the rod slightly with the light weight tip, so I would suggest fishing it with a 2-weight. The heavier (nymphing) tip has an agate tip-top, and seems to work best with a 3-weight line. The heavier tip is slightly darker and may have been a later addition to the set of blanks. The gentleman from whom I purchased the blanks suggested the blanks were made by either Edwards or Payne, but I have no way to validate this claim. I placed an invisible wrap between the butt ferrule and the first guide to strengthen this delicate little rod in this area. There are no breaks or separations here, just a protective wrap which the buyer would not see had I not mentioned it here (the fourth and the last photo show this section of the rod). The rod is wrapped in translucent orange silk and finished with multiple coats of spar urethane varnish. This is a nice little medium action rod which should be fished with a 2-3 weight line and 6-7x tippett. The rod will come with a new quality rod bag. Expedited shipping is $12 in the U.S., $15 to Canada. Expedited shipping overseas usually runs about $35. Insurance is optional and may not be available to all overseas destinations.
