An 8 foot for a 6 wt. is a classic amongst trout rods. Anywhere. Any time. I really don't mean to diss anyone in particular, but it's my observation that all too often, light weight rods make up for light weight casters. Vincent Marinaro used a 10 wt salmon line on the Letort over those constitutionally spooky fish (please see p. 54 of the Code before e-mailing me about the implausibility of that statement). Mere mortals use something lighter, but I believe I understand what he's saying to us.
