Here's a hard to find, NIB with original paperwork Turner's Spider Lure from Hale, Missouri. Here's your chance at one of the most odd bait harness snagging devices ever conceived for fishing...It's 6 "legs" are formed by 12 black japanned hooks arranged around the perimeter of the bait-holder by 6 "pairs" of hooks. A spiral wire bait holder protrudes on each side from the center. A total of 7 sets of screws and nuts hold the contraption together. The entire combination is clean, crisp, shiny and minty. The bottom of the 2 piece cardboard box has 2 copper tabs, both in perfect condition and unused which holds the separate box top in place for mailing.
At $2 ea., this was an expensive lure back in the day. The paperwork indicates the hooks and center bait holder can both be baited. It is said to have produced "vibratory convolutions" through the water. Wow, if a fish comes in for a look or a smell, he's history...
