Robichaud Fixed spool Fly Reel 5weight. RHW
Here is a very nice fly reel from the bench of Dave Robichaud. This reel was made in the early 1990’s. They have not been made for a number of years and have become a modern collectible reel. It is about 2 15/16 in diameter and 1 1/8 wide. The reel will easily hold a 4,5 or 6wt line and backing. There is currently about 100 yards of 20 lb backing on the reel.and the reel had a 5WF on it. The reel was used very little, there are no significant scratches, only one small nick on rim about 1/32 of an inch in size. It is in near mint condition. And it functions at 100 %. Robichaud reels are the best of the followers of the Bogdan school of reel design. The reel runs on small sealed ball bearings and is very smooth. It has a pleasing click check that is fixed and no adjustable drag. It is RH wind only ,to change you must have a left hand pawl. And I do not.This reel is a fixed spool and not his “press and turn quick change or maintain spool. A very fine classic style reel to accompany your finest rods, they are a very reliable reel. It comes in what looks to be an original pouch for this model. I apologize because I cannot verify this.
