Rare spinning reel marked The Illingworth No. 4 Mk. III Salmon Reel on the face of the spool, along with multiple patent markings. Reel features manual line pickup, fully enclosed gear housing, and face plate mounted drag lever. According to Ben Wright's book, Spinning Reel Reference and Value Guide, this particular model is circa 1934 vintage, with the reel body and foot being constructed out of duralium lightweight aluminum alloy. Reel shows just enough wear from use to give it great character. Everything seems to be working properly. Comes in what appears to be its original fibreboard case. A great reel to add to any collection.
