Very Rare One Of A Kind Rapala Super Shad Rap!
Hand signed by fishing great & legend Jan Eggers!

In conjunction with RapalaNation.com, we are auctioning off this very rare and once in a lifetime offer of this Rapala Super Shad Rap SSR-14, signed by world renowned fisherman, journalist, and friend of the Rapala family, Mr. Jan Eggers.

The majority of the proceeds for this auction will be donated to the
C.A.S.T For Kids Foundation; a non-profit charity organization that provides disabled and disadvantaged children the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor recreational experience fishing on the water. As someone who grew to love fishing as a young boy, and now a father of children myself, I can't say enough about this wonderful organization.

I am fortunate enough through my Rapala site to know many Rapala fanatics that span the globe; after all, the world's most famous lure doesn't only catch fish :) . One of my friends who lives in the Netherlands met with Mr. Jan Eggers at his home recently, and he was gracious & kind enough to sign the lure for us. Below are the pictures of Jan signing the lure:

1930s-40s ? GORGEOUS VIKING FROG LURE WITH BOX -- RARE!!!!!!

This is your chance to own a very rare Viking frog lure. This lure could be the pride and joy of many a serious collection!

I am selling this lure for some very good friends of mine (they don't do Ebay...). Their grandpappy bought this lure new and no one knows if he ever fished with it. Their grandfather has been gone a long time, so there is no one left to ask. I don't know if it knows how to swim!

This extremely camera shy lure has been in the same family since it was new, and has rested in a safety deposit box for over 20 years. This is the first time that this lure has been offered for sale (since new). The lure is very nice but the box might be worth more. That's right, you get both the lure and the box!

Buyer to pay $12.00 shipping to the lower 48 states and more else where, plus the cost of insurance which will be determined at the end of the auction. Remember, this is not a $100 lure, so there is a reasonable reserve and no "BUY IT NOW". Please email me questions WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER. In case I don't know the answer, I will have the owners call you.

There are several photos for you to examine. Please look carefully to see what you are getting, and ask any questions you have before bidding. Item sold AS IS.

GOOD LUCK BIDDING, thank you for stopping by. Don't let this big one get away! (more...)

NIB w/ Papers Spring Hook Fish Trap Gang Bait Hook Lure

or20090328a NIB w/ Papers Spring Hook Fish Trap Gang Bait Hook Lure

Bidding has ended

Here's a hard to find, NIB with original paperwork Turner's Spider Lure from Hale, Missouri. Here's your chance at one of the most odd bait harness snagging devices ever conceived for fishing...It's 6 "legs" are formed by 12 black japanned hooks arranged around the perimeter of the bait-holder by 6 "pairs" of hooks. A spiral wire bait holder protrudes on each side from the center. A total of 7 sets of screws and nuts hold the contraption together. The entire combination is clean, crisp, shiny and minty. The bottom of the 2 piece cardboard box has 2 copper tabs, both in perfect condition and unused which holds the separate box top in place for mailing.

At $2 ea., this was an expensive lure back in the day. The paperwork indicates the hooks and center bait holder can both be baited. It is said to have produced "vibratory convolutions" through the water. Wow, if a fish comes in for a look or a smell, he's history... (more...)

Shakespeare's REVOLUTION Lure

First appeared in 1901, and sold throughout Michigan like Wildfire. They couldn't keep up with the demand, and the word about this lure was mostly spreading by mouth, newspapers and magazines were slow to come out at that time period...; it was obvious where the name came from; they couldn't keep these on the shelf. This lure put William Shakespeare, the Lure Maker, on the map. This ACORN SHAKESPEARE REVOLUTION bizzarre surface lure is my Rarest and Last Revolution,,,and my last, and you don't see many of them around at all, especially in this condition. The thing that makes this rare is the spinner blades.... they are UNMARKED, NOTHING on the blades...it's the only one I've ever seen like that!!! (check out the pictures) ...as nice as I've seen down here; they DO NOT show up in antique stores, and when I have found them in Lures Shows; the owners want a bloody fortune for them, no matter what condition they're in. I collect the most unusual lures and fishing hardware that I can find on the market and antique stores throughout the South. Watch my items up for auction over the course of the next month for the best and most sought after lures out there!!!

Run of the mill lures are a dime a dozen... while REAL lures are extremely animated and were the very best that the lure makers had to offer you. This lure is indeed a piece of history, and not for the faint of heart (or pocket book). I'll start it out REAAALLL LOW, so everyone and their brother has an equal shot at it.... $0.05 would be a real deal; they charged $0.75 for these over 108 years ago.... no doubt a bloomin' fortune at that time; and since the supply couldn't keep up with the demand, there must have been a "Black Market" for them that went well above that mark, all by word of mouth!!! You'll see more of these over time, but NOT in this condition, and this lure is a VERY EARLY ONE.... Patent Pending written on one of the Mickey Mouse blades.... it took a while to get the patent into place; even back then......Rare in any condition, is not a stretch....RARE IN THIS CONDITION, WITH THE BLADES REVERSED BACK TO BACK???? Most definately, not a stretch, This LURE IS A GEM, and you'll agree! (more...)

This lure put William Shakespeare, the Lure Maker, on the map. This bizzarre surface lure is one ABSOLUTELY EXCELLANT example of the Bucktail Revolutions, and you don't see many of them around at all, especially in this condition; ESPECIALLY UNDER A BUCK!!! (99 cents)...... (check out the pictures) ...as nice as I've seen down here; they DO NOT show up in antique stores, and when I have found them in Lures Shows; the owners want a bloody fortune for them, no matter what condition they're in....this one is missing one hook tine, off the treble hook.... it doesn't detract much from the display quality of the lure; not much at all... these are well over 100 YEARS OLD, and some of the most collectible of ancient metal lures available on the market today!!!

Patent Applied For written on one of the Mickey Mouse blades.... it took a while to get the patent into place; even back then......Rare in any condition, is not a stretch....RARE IN THIS CONDITION? Most definately, not a stretch, This LURE IS AWESOME, and you'll agree!

Payment should be within 10 days of the end of the auction....Paypal. Shipping and handling is $4.75...if you want insurance, I'll add that to it. I'LL COMBINE ALL SHIPPING WHETHER YOU WIN ONE OR TWENTY LURES, as long as it's all on the same day....same shipping fees, $4.75 ships ALL lures....Now, if you win a tackle box, then the larger shipping fee for the box applies. Insurance will be added (no cost to you), and a USPS Delivery Confirmation that you'll sign for. CANADIAN? Your shipping is FREE!!! That's fairly bold, but it's less to ship them to Canada than the Lower 48 now... who would know?

Your lures will be carefully packaged and sent out to you immediately after receiving your payment. If paying by check, your lures will be sent promptly after the check clears. The hooks will be covered with surgical tubing and lures bubble wrapped. My packaging is the best that anyone could offer you, I assure you...NOTHING goes out without a box, unless you were to specifically request it....and even then, only on some lure like a metal spoon, that couldn't be broken or maimed. The Turner Company's SPIDER LURE

If you write about something as "rare", then it damn well better be just that, because most lures are seen in auctions or on Ebay from time to time. Delbert Turner was the inventor, and his father, Ed, machined these out in their hardware store in Hale, Missouri. Dean Murphy stated in his book, "Fishing Tackle Made in Missouri", that only 150 or so were made, and they didn't sell well. He stated that Delbert destroyed about 40-50 of them before he retired, so it goes to figure that there are only a 100 of these, OR LESS, left in the world. Now if you figure that alot of them that were used may have rusted out, that leaves VERY DARN FEW left!!!

This bizzarre metal lure is one ABSOLUTELY EXCELLANT example of the Spider Lures, and you don't see many of them around at all, especially in this condition... Absolutely 100% MINT condition; no rust, no delapitation, NOTHING!!! ....the lure, the box, the papers, the whole kit and kaboodle (check out the pictures) ..... The tabs on the box are even in great shape, so good, that I won't bend them down... as nice as I've seen ever; they DO NOT show up in antique stores, and you DON'T find them in Lures Shows; the owners keep them, no matter what condition they're in. I collect the most unusual lures and fishing hardware that I can find on the market and antique stores throughout the South. Eugene Hamlin (1875-1935) Pottawatomie Indian Fish Decoy. circa 1900 Fish Decoy by Native American Fishing Guide

This circa 1900 Brook Trout fish spearing decoy was made by Eugene Hamlin (1875- 1935) of Topinabee, Michigan. He was chief of his tribe, and an avid fisherman and fishing guide on Burt, Black, and Mullet Lakes in northern Michigan. While on a guiding trip in 1920, a fish hook became lodged in his foot. The wound turned into gangrene, and his leg eventually had to be amputated, pretty much ending his days of fishing and guiding.

I acquired a dozen of his fish decoys from a relative in the mid-1980’s. They where a variety of sizes and species. I traded and sold the others through the years, but hung on to this one because it was my favorite. There are lots of fish decoys out there that are attributed to Native Americans, but being able to identify the Native American that made them is virtually impossible. Here is a very early decoy, where the name and history of the maker are known - rare indeed!

This 6 ½ inch Brook Trout has a wood body, painted eyes, and tin fins and tail. In exceptional clean original condition.

Shipping via US Postal Service Insured Priority Mail within the USA is $7.00. Shipping to all other countries is $25.00. (more...)

For sale is an excellent Heddon 700 Musky minnow in Sienna Crackleback. This 3-hook sway-bellied beauty has excellent glass eyes and hardware. The paint on this big lure is absolutely stunning and has an unusual blended pink strip where the yellow and sienna come together. Also, the gill marks are bright and bold. The bellyweights are, for the most part, intact with cracking around them. The front one has some chipping as seen in the photos. I have a modest reserve on this auction to help protect my investment. This is a very nice lure that is seldom seen for sale in this condition and I am very sure that the new owner will be very pleased with this remarkable work of art. I accept PayPal, USPS money-orders, cashier checks, and personal checks. Personal checks will have to clear before shipping. Sold only in the United States and Canada. United States items are shipped USPS priority with delivery confirmation. Insurance is optional but, is highly recommended. I can not be responsible for items if they are lost or damaged during shipping. Thanks very much for looking and make sure to contact me with any questions. (more...)

You are bidding on a rare Heddon Series 3000 Spin Dive Wooden Lure made between 1918 -1926 in what I believe is a hard to find color combination. The lure is in great overall condition as you can see in the pictures below that were shot in higher resolution to help answer some of your questions. It has not been repainted or repaired in any way, just a light cleaning was done by hand to its body. There are some very small chips / paint loss and light crazing caused by landing those record bass and rattling around in grandpas old tackle box. The lure measures approx. 5 1/8" from its metal loop tip to the end of its wooden paddle tail. The prop is signed Heddon on one side, Dowagiac on the other and Spin Diver on its diving blade. This lure is one of a group of hard to find Heddon wooden lures I will be putting up for auction in the next few days. Keep checking my ebay site for Heddon Series 3000 Spin Dive in frog scale colors, Heddon Head-On Basser, Heddon 300 in Strawberry, Heddon Wiggler deep diver and others. All the lures are in great condition for their age.

A very rare rubber ice spearing decoy by Enterprise Mfg, later to become Pflueger. These are very rare. This one in especailly nice shape considering what they are made from. Fragile but all there. I will pack especially carefully. Metal fins a mite cock-eyed but I am afraid to try bending em straight.

Satisfaction guaranteed.

This is by far the toughest crazy crawler there is to find. It has the all white eyes no other color in the pupil. The chipmunk is a tough one to come across , but there are a few of them out there. This one is a lot more scarce than a chipmunk by a long shot. It is in very good condition except for a slight crunch on top of the head as you can see in the photos. This is the 2100 model being 2 3/4'' long. It has the gold dot under the chin. 2 piece hardware.

If you are into crazy crawlers this may be your only chance to own one as tough as this.
