Beautiful Penn 706 green reel. Reel has no marks on it, comes with paperwork and original Penn tissue paper. This reel doesn't look as though it hs ever been used. Hate to part with it but times are tough. Would say it is collectors grade. 10 out of 10. The box is in good shape. 9 out of 10. These are the toughest reels Penn ever made. I have some that i have used for almost 30 years. I bought this one from an antique shop 25 years ago and have never used it.

The reel is jet black in color, with the external metallic parts plated in Genuine 24 kt. Gold !!! This reel is in excellent working condition, very smooth, runs true .

Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000 De Luxe Fishing Reel n/mint

This is a rare vintage black and gold 5000 De Luxe four screw fishing reel in near mint condition. Also included is the original teak wood box, spare spool, oil tube, wrench and parts tube (with parts). This reel is in excellent working condition, very smooth. The foot is smooth and has the number 9439. The box is in great shape. There is no name engraved and the silver date stamp code is M9 (which is 1962) on the name plate on the top of the box. This reel is in excellent shape, as seen in the pictures. I can only find two very small marks on the sideplate , I consider this near mint. This reel would make an excellent addition to your collection.

This reel looks good and functions really good. I don't know much about these but do know the company is still making reels but not in wood as far as I know. The current reels are made of a plastic type material and have a solid reputation for being great surf casting reels. I think it would be a blast to fish this reel and don't see any reason why one couldn't do just that. A nice collectable.

NIB Mitchell 440 Two-Stroke "Otomatic" Spinning Reel

This is a two stroke Michell "Otomatic" Spinning Reel. It is BRAND NEW and it is the original French made Garcia Mitchell model from the 1960's or early 1970's. It is a beauty. It is in the original deluxe plastic carrying case AND original cardboard stocking box. This reel is the top of the line high-speed retrieve (5:1 gear ratio), automatic bail reel. It is NIB (new in original box) with original papers, spare spool, reel tool, spare side plate screw, spare bail spring and an additional screw (not sure which one).
This reel is the ultimate in quality and function made of the finest materials in France, has not been made for many years and was the best quality produced by Mitchell in a unique automatic bail configuration (finger tip bail release with automatic return upon cranking the handle). It is a collector's and/or a spin caster's dream reel. These are very hard to find, so don't miss out on this one!"
With the "Mitchell Otomatic" any preparation for the cast is radically eliminated. The pick-up is so designed that it opens to free the line automatically by simply pressing with the forefinger of the hand holding the rod.

You are biding on a rare vintage ABU Ambassadeur Champagne Gold 5500 foot number 770200 casting reel. This was produced for one month only (February 1977). This is an original bait casting reel in overall good condition. There is no wear rash on the side plates. Some clear coat wear though. Drag works as it should and reel spins smooth and quiet. All stickers are in tact and oil logo is legible. Overall reel shows very little wear. This reel could use some cleaning, but as I am not a collector, I'll leave that up to the high bidder. Shipping is $8.00 in the USA, $20.00 for overseas buyers. Accepted form of payment is Pay-Pal.

Vintage Penn 711 Spinning Reel With Box & Paperwork!
This is a Vintage Penn 711 Spinning Reel from 1966! It comes with the box, paperwork and original wrapping paper. The reel has scratches but the pictures look worse than it really is as we take closeups. According to Ben Wright, author of "The Wright Price Guide for the Reel Man" Penn made 400 710 reels with a flat black finish and 400 with a stippled black finish in 1966. As Penn kept no records of how many 711 reels they made, we don't know how many are left. Ben Wright estimates there were between 10-100. I have also heard that they made 1 hours worth of these reels, but I can't verify that. I opened up the reel and took pictures of the inside to show that this is not a repainted reel. The box is in good shape and has the original cardboard insert. The wraping paper is crumpled and has oil stains on it.

Up for bid is a rare and highly desirable gold and black Ambassadeur De Luxe reel in excellant condition. Comes complete with original Teakwood Presentation box, black velvet pouch, spare spool, reel wrench, spare parts, and oil. Very smooth ball bearing gears. Notice the rare gold and black counter-balanced handle. Box is mint and has no scratches, un-engraved nameplate on top, and inside of box has the earlier green (not red) velvet strips. This reel was puchased around late 60's - early 70's and has the four screw left sideplate. Do not know the exact date of reel. It is truly a centerpiece for any reel collection.

MASSIVE - EDWARD VOM HOFE 14/0 Commander Ross Game Reel

Here is a wonderful example of an early, massive Edward vom Hofe 14/0 Commander Ross big game fishing reel from 1936. This scarce big game reel is stamped with the model number 732 as well as the size, 14/0, and the dating code, "C" 92. This huge reel measures 7 inches in diameter and 4 1/4 inches across the inside spool. Almost impossible to find, this very desirable, early version of the Commander Ross reel has no rim throw levers to operate the free-spool or clicker. It also has the sliding oiler cap in the 2 o'clock position and the early hard rubber cap at the center. The reel also sports the early small tulip/bicycle grip knob. The reel has a small chip in the hard rubber at the top of the front rim but is in otherwise wonderful condition both aesthetically and mechanically. The 14/0 Commander Ross reel was only made for a few years to compete with reels like the Hardy Zane Grey as well as reels made by Kovalovsky, J.A. Coxe and Fin-Nor to name a few. The Commander Ross reels were the reel of choice for such notable anglers as Michael Lerner and S. Kip Farrington. Ernest Hemingway also used Vom Hofe Commander Ross reels on occasion. VERY FEW of these non-cradle Edward vom Hofe 14/0 big game reels exist and this example, unlike most, has all its original parts. Do not miss this chance to add this scarce reel to your Edward vom Hofe or big game fishing reel collection.

This Midnight Blue Garcia Mitchell 408 comes in a rare Garcia leather reel bag, an extra spool, a spool arbor ,a 308 owner's manual and a 408 service manual. She has signs of light use or shelf wear as you can see in the photographs but is mechanically perfect having been fully serviced by me and ready for someone to take her fishing! I have attached after service pictures of the internal gearing. The last picture shows the spool capacity for a 308 but it was the same spool for this 408.
The Planamatic "Gleason" gearing and ball bearings that support the rotating head makes this reel a favorite amongst ultra-light anglers! Weighing in at just 8 ounces (227 grams), this reel is a thrill to fish with for the young and old alike!

This is a vintage Penn 16/0 Senator which I think is from the 1960's maybe earlier due to the design of the spool center. It is used and has some scratches and bare spots on the chrome bars otherwise in good shape for it's age. Side plates are in great shape also. Appears to have a new base which has no flaws. Works perfectly with very smooth running operation.
This is a great reel for any collector or to be put back in service to catch that fish of a lifetime. Shipping is $25.00 within the lower 48 states.
