Vintage Fishing Lures Heddon Creek Chub Pflueger Paw Closing : May-22-08 18:05:59 PDT CLICK HERE TO BID!

There are just a ton of antique or vintage lures and lure boxes. Some of the lure brand names that I could figure out are Heddon, Creek Chub, Arbogast, Paw Paw, Millsite, Shur Strike, Cisco Kid, Shakespeare, Wood’s, South Bend and Pflueger. There are probably many more lure makers included but I can not ID them.

There are many old lures made of wood and there are even some lures with glass eyes. Some of the lures are in very good shape. Some of the lures show their age, wear, use and/or damage and are in poor condition.

Also included is a fishing reel, a sinker tin full of weights, hook boxes with hooks, reel tools and more.

The tackle boxes are a UMCO 205 A and an Old Pal Woodstream. Both are made of some sort of metal. They are probably too heavy to ship but I can include them if you pay the extra shipping. If you would like a shipping quote with the tackle boxes included, please let me know.

Rare and very attractive, original, 1890's Schonk Co. Lithograph on Tin, Advertising Sign for "Buckskin Rubber Boots" manufactured by the Monarch Rubber Company of St. Louis. Specifically, this sign feature an image of a Buckskin "Duck Boots" for Hunting or Fishing. This fantastic and quite rare Chromolithographed Tin Advertising Sign measures approx. 23 1/2" x 17 1/2" and is framed in a simple, turn of the century oak frame (overall size with frame 28 1/2" x 22 1/2"). It features a wonderful, large image of a single Buckskin Rubber Knee High Duck Boot with the Monarch Rubber Company Trade Mark label on the side. Next to the Boot is a boy seated on what looks like a very large rubber band - he is suspended in the air from the sole of a Rubber Boot. Text next to this illustration reads "This boy weighted 110 lbs and was suspended by a strip 2 inches wide cut from the sole of a Buckskin Boot. Other advertising text on the sign reads "Buckskin Rubber Boots" and "For Sale Here". The sign is undated but signed by the lithographer - Charles W. Shonk Co. of Chicago. Charles Shonk produced some of the finest Tin Lithograph Advertising Signs, trays, match holders, etc. manufactured in the late 19th and very early 20th century. The lithography on the Sign offered here is of the highest quality and sign is very well made and extremely attractive. This rare and beautiful sign is in very good condition - the colors are bright and vibrant and there is no significant wear or damage to the lithograph surface. There has been a bit of professional surface retouching in the solid blue area to the right of the boy and at the lower right hand corner affecting the lithographer's slug. None of the multi color chromolithographed areas have been repaired or altered in any way. In hand the colors are rich, warm and uniform and the high quality professional is easier to feel than it is to see. A rare and very beautiful turn of the century Rubber Duck Hunting or Fishing Boot Tin Litho Advertising Sign and a fantastic to addition to any collection!!!

We are pleased to offer this rare and seldom offered Midget No. 2 Minnow & Frog Bucket. I believe that this bucket was made by Cream City out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I've found websites that date this bucket to as early as the late 1880s to the 1890s. This bucket was found near the Saginaw Bay/Saginaw River area. The bucket measures 6 inches in diameter and just over 4 1/2 inches tall. It is all original. It has a dark green paint with silver stenciling and gold pin striping. It shows expected wear for being 100 plus years old.
She's a real beauty that would make a fine addition to any fishing tackle/lure collection!

RARE JAPANESE GRAYLING TROUT MOUNT by LEON CHANDLER 70s Closing : Feb-25-08 20:15:00 PST CLICK HERE TO BID!

This is a fantastic fish mount of a very large size Trout or Grayling ( I do not know ) that was caught by Leon Chandler while on a trip to Japan . I was told the fish was a Grayling, but it looks more like a trout to me. Either way, I understand that from Japan, this is a pretty good size example of this species. It was mounted for him by a Japanese specialist, who signed the backdrop of the mount, and sent to Leon via mail. The fish is a beauty and will certainly decorate any office den or any wall of an avid fisherman.

The frame size of this is 19" X 15.5" tall. The actual fish mount is approx 11" long.

For what it is worth, this piece came from the private and personal collection of Mr. Leon Chandler, of Cortland NY, known to many in the Fly fishing world as the first ambassador of fly fishing . Leon was legendary among his fishing contemporaries , and was a great part of putting Cortland Line on the map of the World, not just the US. We have a few very selective pieces from his estate still left, which we have listed this week. From every correspondence I have received from people that knew him, he was a pleasure to be around, and very giving of his gift. This piece will make a nice addition to any home or collection.

Antique Leather + Wicker Fishing Fish Creel Basket NR Bidding has ended

This listing is for an antique leather and wicker fishing creel basket. It measures approximately 13.5" inches wide, 8" inches high, and 7" inches deep. The numbers 1 through 9 are stamped into the leather on top to indicate inches and a name that appears to say "Leaton" is also written there. On the leather on the bottom, it's stamped "___ Stitch Finest Quality" and it also appears to say "Taca Brand." There is a square shaped hole in the top of the basket and another strap inside that doesn't appear to be original. The basket is in good condition with moderate scuffs, discoloration, and cracking in the leather. There are a few tears in the leather and the end of the top strap has come off but is included. Here is a great opportunity for collectors to add a wood tail, Leroy Howell Sucker to their collection. The large Sucker is a very tough fish decoy to find. The red and cream color combination is a Minnesota classic and the Sucker form with its sweeping, carved, wood tail is one of the most visually appealing of all of Howell's designs. This decoy was purchased from the Howell family several years ago. It is guaranteed to be in original condition and is also guaranteed to be authentic. Leroy Howell is one of the top names in Old Time Minnesota fish decoy carving and his decoys are featured in all collector's reference books. For additional information on Howell check the back issues of Hunting and Fishing Collectibles Magazine for an in- depth feature article which reveals many formerly unknown details about this interesting man. Also check the reference book FOLK ART FISH DECOYS by Dr. Petersen. The length of this example is 8 1/2" and has double incised eyes and a wonderfully folky Sucker form. The right fin is partially corroded away from storage but overall the decoy is in beautiful condition. Wood tail Howell decoys are thought to be among his folkiest, most visually appealing designs and collector interest in them is very high. This decoy is in original, lightly fished condition. There are a few scuffs and nicks hear and there and the lower tail tip is lightly worn. Opportunities to add an investment quality Leroy Howell fish decoy to your collection do not come along very often so make sure to take advantage of this one. The age is 1950s.

RECORD FLYER 3000 (Non or 'Modell C') is the first ABU reel & the only Record reel to be equipped with ball bearings.
The production years of th Model C is usually said to have been 1951-57.
The 'FLYER' is based on the 2100 Sport design but with a wider carriage & stainless steel side plates.

Used but not abused Record Flyer 3000 Modell C that comes complete with its original leather case, Record Spinnfiskarens ABC papers, reserve spares in tube, Record Olja(Oil)container,
a reserve spool with its wooden canister, cork spool filler, a wrench and an unmark grease in silver container. Mechanically, this Flyer still operates smoothly whereas cosmetically, the anodised chrome on the lower thumbscrew has peeled off and the black spacers appears to have shown signs of wear but nothing serious.
Well! What do you expect from a reel of 50 plus years of age and counting??

This Flyer reel's footbar, the top & bottom of the reserve spool canister comes serialized :- 5393
The bottom part of the leather casing comes embossed with 3000C on it.
Record-fish logo and Made in Sweden under the reel's foot.

Here you have a rare very hard to find Bingo Salesman Sample Ring of 58 lures. There is also a Bingo Color Chart with the same 58 lures included but not shown. This is a complete set of what Bingo sold at the time. I believe the time frame to be late 70's to early 80's. I have other salesman sample rings listed now so check my other auctions. Up for consideration is this 1918 OR 1919 CREEK CHUB NATURE LURES FISHING TACKLE CATALOG. We can't be sure of the exact date on this but believe this is either a 1919 or 1920 Creek Chub Casting and Trolling Nature Lures Catalog. No copyright date or form number is found. The old catalog's been folded years ago and may be a pre-1920 Lure Box catalog. We can't be sure? We consider this Creek Chub Catalog to be PRE-1920 AND RARE! The date is verified by the testimonials in the catalog. 1917 and 1918 dates are seen throughout the testimonials. The measurement of the old catalog as seen in our 1st photo is aprox. 5 1/2" wide by 8 1/2" tall. When open the old Creek Chub catalog measures the same 8 1/2" tall and aprox. 22" wide. There are NO TEARS found! There are NO BENT CORNERS. There's No writing in or on the catalog. There's a ruffled edge on what we consider the front cover opening edge. The catalog is slightly soiled as seen in our detailed photos. This is only soiled in certain areas from being folded. It has nice rich color and patina on the colored areas of the catalog. The catalog introduces the Open Mouth Shiner as being "New" for this year. The Open Mouth Shiner was introduced in 1918. The catalog shows in detail the following lures: CREEK CHUB WIGGLER, BABY CHUB, HUSKY MUSKY, THE CRAWDAD, THE BABY CRAWDAD, and THE OPEN MOUTH SHINER. The old catalog was just found with-in the collection. We'll let you be the judge after viewing the detailed photos below and please ask any questions prior to bidding. We describe the items the best we can. This is believed to be PRE-1920, however the actual date of the catalog is unknown. The Creek Chub Nature Lure Catalog is sold "AS IS" as seen below in the detailed photos. We think this would be a great addition for any Antique Creek Chub Fishing Collection. WE THINK THE OLD CREEK CHUB CATALOG IS RARE! WE THINK IT'S IN VERY GOOD BUT SLIGHTLY SOILED CONDITION!

never used - was a gift to my friend ... given with the advise: If you take this vise with you on your salmon trips- don´t worry-the other guys in the lodge will not notice your ugly flies - they will have only eyes on your vise ( whatever that means???...I kow, he is still fishing for salmon , and being pretty lazy as......he is asking everyone for a fly..in which he can trust.....)
